En la escuela primaria aprendimos de memoria que nuestra América fue conquistada en el Norte por franceses e ingleses y en el Sur españoles y portugueses.
Esta apreciación histórica es válida en cuanto a la conquista material de los nuevos territorios, su invasión y anexión a las distintas coronas europeas; que no en cuanto a la conquista espiritual de los aborígenes.
