The title dinuclear copper(II) complex [Cu2(C18H16Br2N2O4S2)2] was prepared by direct synthesis of a dianionic Schiff base derived from 5-bromosalicylaldehyde and cysteamine. The discrete molecules lie across inversion centers and crystallize with two dimethylformamide (DMF) molecules of crystallization.
