Abstract
Señala el entrevistado Armando Rollemberg, periodista brasileño, gremialista y Presidente de la Organización Internacional de Periodistas -OIP- que, 1992 fue desastroso para los periodistas, muchas bajas en las coberturas de los conflictos armados por bandas de narcotraficantes, terroristas o policías de regímenes totalitarios, más los detenidos, desterrados o marginados del mercado de trabajo por cuestiones políticas, ideológicas o de orden religioso. Afirma que es justo que los periodistas tengan organizaciones que representen las reivindicaciones y luchen por los intereses específicos así como para autorregular la profesión. Afirma que la comunicación puede ser un instrumento de poder, un producto comercial, un arma revolucionaria o un medio de educación. Es un derecho individual y colectivo al que aspiran todas las sociedades.
