Abstract
Son muchos los géneros musicales en todo el orbe que hacen mención a diversos aspectos de la medicina y en especial al corazón como órgano vital en la economía corporal, relacionado de manera metafórica con la expresión y génesis de emociones como el amor, la ira y el odio, no siendo ajeno a ello la música vallenata, oriunda de la costa norte colombiana. Conclusiones: El vallenato, al igual que muchos otros géneros musicales de corte popular, le canta a los médicos y al corazón, concebido este último, en un contexto poético, como depositario de emociones y capaz de enfermar de amor.
