Abstract
ESTE ARTIGO examina aspectos centrais do papel exercido pelas potências hegemônicas mundiais nos processos de criação e desenvolvimento do Direito Espacial desde o início da Era Espacial. Acompanha a trajetória que vai da experiência muito rica, mas prenhe de lacunas, do sistema de hegemonia bilateral, até o sistema unipolar de hoje, marcado por perturbadora paralisia no trabalho de elaboração do Direito Espacial. A conclusão salienta a necessidade e a importância de se insistir na busca de um mundo multipolar que, seguramente, terá impacto inovador e salutar também na área espacial.
