Abstract
Resumo: Este artigo procura analisar o discurso presente em alguns mapas políticos em pequena escala. Os referenciais teóricos para essa análise estão presentes no campo da Análise do Discurso. Se os mapas políticos elaborados em pequena escala exercem uma função "mistificadora", esta se apresenta sob a forma da "neutralidade e cientificidade" aparen temente presentes em sua elaboração, e a partir de nossa familiarização com eles, construída no contato cotidiano nas aulas de geografia da escola básica, e mesmo na grande imprensa.
