Abstract
Le terme innovation est entendu comme le passage d’une invention vers un marché ou vers la société. La ville de Grenoble située au cœur des Alpes françaises a été « ville olympique » pour les jeux d’hiver de 1968 (Quand l’auteur parle de Grenoble par commodité, il entend plus généralement agglomération grenobloise au sens large voire parfois Isère.). Mais cette notoriété de ville sportive, près de 50 ans plus tard, a été effacée au profit de l’image d’une ville parmi les plus innovantes au monde. Cette image a été confirmée par le récent classement du magasineForbes (2013) qui positionne Grenoble dans le « top 15 », en cinquième place des villes les plus innovantes au monde.La capitale des Alpes est la seule ville française à apparaître dans ce « top 15 », derrière Eindhoven (Pays-Bas, 1ère), San Diego (Californie, 2ème), San Francisco (Californie, 3ème) et Malmö (Suède, 4ème), mais devant Stuttgart (6ème) et Boston (7ème).
