Abstract
The geothermal energy is gaining more and more attention today. Slovakia bearing in the mind the world trends, has joined the countries which want to exploit the domestic geothermal sources. The results of geological research put Slovakia to the regions with a high geothermal potential. The project of the geothermal energy utilization in the area of east Slovakian Neogen is coming in to the phase of production tests in these days. This article is focused on the description of the each phase during this project starting with the geological survey to the drilling of the geothermal wells and production tests and their evaluation. At the end, this article is dealing with the possibility of similar projects in the area of the geothermal energy exploitation. The article is also focused on the description of each phase of the geothermal water utilization and its direct influence on the well completion of the well Ďurkov.
