Abstract
Trata-se de um estudo descritivo para verificar a percepção da autonomia de 50 idosos longevos ambulatoriais e os fatores sociodemográficos e funcionais associados. Foram coletados dados sociodemográficos, caracterização do cuidar, funcionalidade e percepção de autonomia. Os voluntários demonstraram alto grau de percepção de autonomia, a qual se correlacionou de forma significativa somente com a funcionalidade. Os profissionais devem ajudar os idosos a reconhecer e trabalhar com suas escolhas, além de respeitá-las durante suas intervenções.
