Abstract
The knowledge about sexually transmited diseases (STD) was studied among 117 military men confined at the Provincial Disciplinary Center of the MININT (Ministry of the Interior), in the Baraguá municipality, province of Ciego de Ávila, from February to June, 1998. Through a survey it was proved the initial lack of information on this topic of almost all the participants, in spite of the fact that the third part of them had suffered from some of these diseases. A table game was used that allowed learning and made it pleasant. Different situations were developed together with chats and group dynamics on STD. After some months of educative work, a considerable improvement of the knowledge about this topic was attained. We demonstrated the importance and the availability of practical, didactic and participative methods to increase the understanding of this phenomenon so frequent in risk groups
