Abstract
O presente artigo pretende analisar o Direito Fundamental à Educação, a partir de um viés da Educação do Campo, contextualizando a educação brasileira tanto historicamente, quanto politicamente. São apresentadas as origens da educação nos períodos colonial, imperial e republicano, este último com ênfase na Constituição Federal de 1988, com olhar especial para a educação do Campo no Brasil contemporâneo. Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica exploratório-explicativa, qualitativa, utilizando-se o método hipotético-dedutivo. Embora o direito à educação esteja previsto constitucionalmente, quando se relaciona com a educação do campo, o que se vê é um descaso do poder público para com os povos do campo.
