Si bien los primeros poemas de Aurelio Arturo, aparecidos en suplementos literarios de 1931 a 1934, constituyen el punto de ruptura en medio del largo dominio modernista, este solo falleció oficialmente en Colombia en 1936 con la aparición del libro inicial de Eduardo Carranza: Canciones para iniciar una fiesta.
