Abstract
Las guerras de la Independencia fueron por su duración relativamente corta y los extraordinarios resultados obtenidos, un hecho histórico de gran resonancia. En dos lustros se liberó un continente de una dominación extranjera que duró 3 siglos.
En un año se declararon contra España, Estados y ciudades separados por miles de kilómetros, casi sin oposición por parte del pueblo. El grito de independencia se propagó como un contagio. Tal era su naturaleza eminentemente popular.
