Abstract
Antoni González wonders whether it is possible to "conserve" without "transforming" first in a theoretical reflection which he makes about the essence of the act and the activity of restoration in recent years with his usual perspicacity. The intervention on this building, that can be seen as a significant switch on the part of the SPAL towards more conservative stances, is presented as an example of the attempt to set aside certain "magic" attitudes of other times but without giving up the method of "objective restoration", so as to make methodological rigour compatible with a better use of economic resources for our heritage.
