Abstract
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo para determinar las diferencias de sexo en el proceso de peritaje médico laboral durante el año 2000. Los datos se obtuvieron del Departamento de Estadística Provincial y del Hospital Universitario Clinicoquirúrgico "Arnaldo Milián Castro". Una vez analizada la información se arribó a los resultados siguientes: 55,6 % de los trabajadores asistidos en las Comisiones Municipales de Peritaje Médico Laboral fueron mujeres, en las cuales predominaron los dictámenes del II al VI; sin embargo, de los 449 jubilados, el 57 % correspondió al sexo masculino, y un 78,3 % presentó 56 o más años de edad y el 58,2 % laboró más de 26 años antes de la invalidez. La categoría ocupacional obrero prevaleció en el 54,2 % de los hombres, procedentes en su mayoría de los organismos MINAZ y MINAGRI. Entre las principales causas que motivaron la jubilación por invalidez se relacionan: enfermedades cardiovasculares y alteraciones del sistema osteomioarticular presentadas con mayor frecuencia en el sexo masculino, así como los trastornos mentales en las mujeres. En cuanto al resto de las afecciones hay iniquidad de sexo a favor del masculino
A descriptive study was conducted to determine the differences between sexes in the process of labor medical inspection during the year 2000. Data were obtained from the Provincial Statistical Department and from "Arnaldo Milián" clinical and surgical university hospital. The analysis of information yielded the following results: 55.6 % of workers evaluated by these Municipal Labor Medical Inspection Commission were females for which the medical reports II to VI predominated; however, 57% of the 449 retirees were males, 78.3% of them were 56 y or over and 58.2 had worked for more than 26 years before the disability appeared. 54.2% of men were workers, mainly form the Ministry of Sugar and the Ministry of Agriculture. The fundamental reasons leading to retirement caused by disability were: cardiovascular diseases and osteomyoarticular system disorders more frequently found in men as well as mental disorders in women. The rest of the diseases was prevailing in males
