Abstract
Siendo de fines del siglo XIX, las palabras de Verlaine, no son, sin embargo, viejas. Ni anticuadas. Ni, acaso, carentes de vigencia y de estética: "Coge a la elocuencia y retuércele el pescuezo". Esto decía el infeliz enfermo. Hoy, en los dominios de la poesía, ya no es, tan sólo, a la elocuencia a la que los nuevos reformistas del Arte y la Belleza han de mandar a retorcerle el "pescuezo": es, también, si se quiere, a la música, a la pintura, al lirismo, al sentimiento y, ante todo, a la claridad y al buen gusto, por añadidura.
