Abstract
The aim of this paper is to relate the success factors mentioned by European University Association report Trends IV. European Universities implementing Bologna (EUA, 2005) with the results of a case study carried out in a Catalan (Spain) university (Masjuan et alii, 2006). We try to analyze close up the particularities of a concrete institution and to find out the mechanisms which can favour the process of reform or to difficult it. We take in account in this paper for space reasons only three factors: the relation to other higher education reforms; the right balance between national level regulation and coordination and institutional autonomy, and national financial support.
