Abstract
Incivilities are low intensity discourteous behaviors that deteriorate working conditions. The present study focuses on technology-mediated incivilities through email. First, the defining attributes of the concept of “incivility” are presented and the particularities of its electronic form identified. Then, examples of email-induced incivilities are examined. Finally, the factors contributing to create an incivility-prone workplace environment are discussed.
