Abstract
Primeiro de uma série de artigos que pretende fazer um crítico e filosófico levantamento das fontes Clássicas acerca das filosofia e atividade filosófica de Arcesilaos de Pitanê, propõe demonstrar a inviabilidade de utilizar-se de Agostinho de Hipona, e sua obra Contra Academicus, no executar deste intuito. Para tanto, intenciona-se apresentar Contra Academicus enquanto livro inserido num contexto anti-estóico e cristão, típicos de um autor patrístico como Agostinho de Hipona.
