Abstract
Introduction: Human resource is one of the most important resources in an organization. role transparency can cause the usefulness of individual and finally leeds to doing things better.Considering the importance of librarians’ role transparency, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between role transparency and Job satisfaction of librarians in state universities in city of Isfahan.
Methods: The research method was descriptive-survey and using stratified random sampling, the sample was 105 persons among the all librarians (164) of state universities in city of Isfahan. The measuring instrument is questionnire. The validity of the questionnire was determined by content validity and the reliability by Cronbach Alpha and the reliability of the role transparency and job satisfication was estimated 0/89 and 0/91 respectively. In order to analyze the data, using SPSS software, Correlation coefficient, one-way ANOVA, Independent t-test and LSD post hoc test were used.
Results: According to results, there is positive and significant Correlation between librarians’role transparency and Job satisfaction in libraries of University of Isfahan, Isfahan University of Technology and Isfahan University of Medical Sciences (p=/001).The findings also showed that between librarians’role transparency and Job satisfaction components including communications (p=/018), wages and salaries (p=.037), supervison (/003) and working conditions (/046), there is positive and significant relationship. But there is no significant relationship between librarians’role transparency and other Job satisfaction components.
Conclusion: Role transparency causes job satisfaction and finally insight and attitude of individual toward his duties changes. Considering the importance of librarians’ job satisfaction and positive Correlation between librarians’ Job satisfaction and their role transparency, investigating ways to increase librarians’ role transparency was offered.
