Abstract
The purpose of this article is to offer a stylistic analysis of Gregory Lynn Valentine Jr.’s poem “This Cruel, Cruel World.” Based on patterns in both syntax and semantics, Understanding the core idea of the poem that individuals are capable of both hatred and forgiveness, begins with an examination of this interpretation.
