Abstract
Fully ablative CO2 laser may be used as a cutting tool and as an alternative to cold steel scalpel surgery in skin cancer excisions. There may be benefits to considering this approach in certain patient groups, such as patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices. We describe a case series of seven patients who underwent excision of cutaneous lesions using a fully ablative CO2 laser (10,600 nm, SmartXide Touch, DEKA, Italy) at a tertiary dermatology centre in the UK in 2026.
