Abstract
We describe a case of acquired reactive perforating collagenosis presenting as pruritic, punched-out lesions in a 42-year-old woman. Investigations revealed previously undiagnosed type 3c diabetes secondary to chronic pancreatitis. Optimisation of glycaemic control, combined with dermatological treatment resulted in marked clinical improvement. This case emphasises the importance of thorough investigation in patients with atypical pruritic dermatoses.
