Abstract
Celem pracy jest charakterystyka runa parkowego i jego znaczenia w parkach historycznych. Runo parkowe pełni funkcje estetyczne, historyczne i ekologiczne. W artykule przedstawiono także kształtowanie roślinności na przestrzeni dziejów, uwzględniając epoki, tj. starożytność, średniowiecze, renesans, barok, XVIII, XIX i XX w. Artykuł prezentuje też wskazania do kształtowania i pielęgnacji runa parkowego.
