How apt, then, that work and careers crop up a lot in this issue – if your mind has turned to professional development, do we have some inspiring reads for you! First up, an enjoyable, detail-packed real-life case study of data science within industry, in which Arindam Majumdar describes how a light-bulb moment outside the workplace evolved from an idea pitch to a brilliant new tool that's now been deployed company-wide (page 22).
