Abstract
Abstract Using next-generation sequencing, we analyzed fluoroquinolone and macrolide resistance-associated mutations of the gyrA, parC, and 23S rRNA genes in Mycoplasma genitalium and detected mutations in 22.3% (37/166), 92.5% (161/174), and 96.0% (169/176), respectively, in Japan. No strains harboring three wild-type genes were identified, indicating widespread dissemination of antimicrobial resistance.
