Abstract
A 73-year-old man presented with prolonged fever, migratory arthralgia and macrocytic anaemia, and thereafter developed relapsing polychondritis, urticarial dermatitis, unprovoked right femoral vein deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary embolism, for which a prothrombotic evaluation returned negative. Bone marrow examination confirmed characteristic cytoplasmic vacuolation in the bone marrow precursor cells.
