Abstract
Résumé La laryngoscopie, courante en soins intensifs néonatals, a des effets indésirables confirmés. Il est démontré que la prémédication réduit ces effets et accroît le taux de réussite. Dans toutes les intubations non urgentes, il faut administrer une prémédication composée d’un vagolytique, d’un opioïde à action rapide et d’un relaxant musculaire à courte durée d’action. Des mesures non pharmacologiques sont toutefois toujours à privilégier en cas d’administration non invasive de surfactant. Les opioïdes à action rapide sont également recommandés, en combinaison avec un vagolytique. La laryngoscopie doit toujours être exécutée ou supervisée par un prestataire de soins qualifié, conjuguée à une surveillance cardiorespiratoire continue.
