Abstract
Abstract We describe Mycobacterium abscessus infections in immunocompetent children with cervicofacial lymphadenitis and localized soft tissue infections. The presence of multi-nodal disease was significantly associated with refractory infection in cervicofacial lymphadenitis. Almost all children were treated with both antimicrobials and surgery, and close to half required repeat surgery.
