Abstract
Contrasting WHO responses to BDBV Ebola and the MV Hondius Andes virus cluster show that international outbreak risk depends not only on pathogen severity, but also on surveillance visibility, mobility-network traceability and healthcare-system resilience. Modern travel medicine preparedness must therefore prioritize containment capacity alongside pathogen-specific risk assessment.
