Abstract
Psoriasis is a complex condition whose effects extend beyond the skin, with lifestyle factors such as diet, physical activity, sleep, and body weight significantly influencing quality of life. Emerging evidence suggests that healthy dietary patterns, particularly Mediterranean-style diets, may improve both psoriasis severity and metabolic health, while ultra-processed foods may increase disease risk. The gut–skin axis further highlights the link between nutrition, the microbiome, systemic inflammation, and cutaneous disease, supporting dietary interventions as promising complementary therapies. Overall, we advocate for a holistic, multidisciplinary approach that combines medical treatment with evidence-based lifestyle, nutritional, and psychosocial support.
