Abstract
The introduction of large language models (LLM) into healthcare has attracted acute ethical issues, as well as the possibilities of enhancing clinical decision making and patient care. The article in question comprises a systematic literature review (SLR) of ethics concerns regarding the use of LLM in healthcare and the problems of bias, transparency, accountability and confidentiality. We consider those published since 2016 and 2024, interpret the ethical aspects of the LLM in different medical uses, such as clinical decision support, interaction with patients and medical research. The work of this review has a rich taxonomy of ethical concerns, exploration of a gap in the existing literature, and a recommendation on how responsible use of LLM may be applied in health care. The purpose of this article is to give a reflection to the healthcare practitioners and decision-makers regarding the ethical issues of incorporating the use of LLM in clinical practice.
