Abstract
Smart cities are emerging as the future of urban development, integrating technological innovations to enhance sustainability, improve governance, and address the needs of rapidly growing urban populations. This article explores the key components of smart cities, focusing on the integration of technology, sustainability, and governance. We analyze the challenges and opportunities in Pakistan's urban settings and propose a framework for building resilient smart cities. The article highlights the role of governance in shaping policy, the contribution of technology in urban planning, and the necessity of sustainable practices for long-term growth. The study also provides recommendations for policymakers and city planners on adopting smart city solutions while ensuring inclusivity and environmental responsibility.
