Abstract
Efficient inventory management is critical to retail chains’ success as it directly impacts customer satisfaction, operational costs, and profitability. This paper examines optimization techniques for inventory management within retail chains in Pakistan, focusing on reducing stockouts, minimizing holding costs, and improving replenishment strategies. Using a blend of quantitative models such as Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Just-in-Time (JIT), and predictive analytics, the study highlights key challenges faced by Pakistani retail chains including demand variability, supplier lead times, and storage constraints. The research includes data-driven simulation and real case analysis of retail chains operating in major cities. Results suggest that integrating advanced forecasting methods and technology-enabled inventory tracking can significantly optimize stock levels and enhance supply chain responsiveness. Finally, policy implications and recommendations for retail managers and supply chain practitioners are discussed.
