Abstract
This scholarly article explores the representation of gender in the Urdu language, focusing particularly on the portrayal of women in various literary forms. Through an analytical lens, the study delves into how women have been depicted in classical and contemporary Urdu literature, media, and social discourse. The analysis aims to understand the role of language in shaping societal perceptions of gender roles, highlighting both the empowering and limiting aspects of women's representation in Urdu. This article also reflects on the shifts in gender portrayal over time and the potential for positive change through conscious linguistic practices.
