Abstract
Sufism, with its profound spiritual and philosophical impact, has deeply influenced Urdu literature over the centuries. This article explores the effect of Sufism on Urdu literary traditions, highlighting its manifestation in poetry, prose, and philosophical writings. The influence of Sufi ideals, such as divine love, unity, and self-realization, has shaped the work of many notable Urdu writers and poets. From the classical poets like Siraj-ud-Din Ali Khan Arzu and Mirza Ghalib to modern writers, the mystic ethos continues to resonate in contemporary literary forms. This study aims to trace the roots of Sufism in Urdu literature and its continuing relevance in today’s literary discourse.
