Abstract
The study of satire and humor in Urdu literature provides an important lens through which the evolving socio-political climate and cultural expressions of contemporary society can be understood. This paper aims to explore the role of satire and humor in modern Urdu literature, focusing on its use in critiquing social issues, political dynamics, and human behavior. By examining works from both established and emerging writers, the paper highlights the significance of these literary forms in shaping public discourse and their broader implications in the context of modernity. This study also reflects on the changes in the perception and treatment of satire and humor in light of contemporary socio-political challenges in Pakistan.
