Abstract
The evolution of feminist consciousness in Urdu literature traces the complex interplay of cultural, social, and political forces that have shaped women’s voices and narratives. From the early depictions of women as passive subjects in classical poetry to the emergence of feminist themes in contemporary prose, Urdu literature has reflected the changing roles and perceptions of women in society. This article explores the key milestones in the development of feminist consciousness, highlighting the contributions of significant women writers and their impact on literary discourse. Through the lens of feminist theory, this study also examines the intersection of gender, power, and identity within the context of Urdu literary traditions.
