Abstract
This scholarly article aims to explore the intersection of feminism and Urdu fiction, examining how feminist ideology has influenced the narrative structure, themes, and character development in Urdu short stories (افسانہ). The paper delves into the role of women in Urdu literature, especially in the context of evolving gender dynamics and societal norms. Through a feminist lens, this study investigates the portrayal of women characters, their agency, and resistance within the socio-cultural milieu of Urdu fiction. The article highlights how feminist themes in Urdu short stories challenge traditional patriarchal constructs and promote a rethinking of gender roles and relationships. By analyzing prominent Urdu authors who have utilized feminist ideals in their works, this study brings attention to the changing literary and cultural landscape of Urdu literature.
