Abstract
Biotechnology has emerged as a transformative force in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases. The integration of molecular biology, genetic engineering, and bioinformatics has facilitated rapid pathogen identification, the development of targeted vaccines, and innovative therapeutic interventions. Techniques such as recombinant DNA technology, CRISPR-based gene editing, and monoclonal antibody production have enhanced the capacity to combat viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections. Moreover, biotechnology has played a crucial role in pandemic preparedness by enabling real-time surveillance systems and scalable vaccine platforms.
