This research provides an in-depth exploration of China's soft power strategies in South Asia and the countermeasures employed by the United States to preserve its interests in the region. This study adopts qualitative approach, combining with descriptive approach. Qualitatively, it scrutinizes academic literature, official documents, and statements to discern the conceptual foundations and execution of China's soft power strategies in South Asia. China's soft power strategies in South Asia encompass cultural exchanges, economic partnerships, infrastructure development, and media influence, aiming to enhance its image and promote its political and economic models. In response, the United States is formulating countermeasures, including the "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" strategy and bolstered regional engagement, to mitigate the influence of China in South Asia. The evolving competition between China and the United States in South Asia holds significant implications for regional politics, economic cooperation, and the broader global geopolitical balance. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the intricate interplay between China's soft power strategies in South Asia and the United States' countermeasures within the context of China's ascent as a superpower.
