Abstract
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the interpretation of criminal laws in Islamic Shariah and their implications on contemporary jurisprudence. The study explores the roots of Islamic criminal laws as laid out in the Quran and Hadith and their evolution in modern legal systems. It critically examines how classical interpretations of Shariah law are applied in the context of contemporary challenges, such as human rights, gender equality, and international law. Furthermore, the study highlights the transformation of Islamic criminal jurisprudence under the influence of modern legal thought, offering insights into the dynamic relationship between traditional interpretations and contemporary issues. The research emphasizes the need for a balanced approach to preserving Islamic legal traditions while addressing the demands of the modern world.
