Abstract
This paper explores the historical development and transformation of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) from its classical foundations to its role within modern legal systems. The evolution of Fiqh reflects the dynamic interplay between divine revelation, human reasoning, and sociopolitical contexts. The study discusses the formation of the classical schools of law, the methodologies of ijtihad and qiyas, and the institutionalization of legal reasoning in early Islamic societies. In contemporary contexts, the integration of Islamic legal principles with modern state governance has led to significant reforms, including codification, reinterpretation, and harmonization with international legal norms. The article emphasizes the adaptability of Sharia-based jurisprudence in addressing new challenges while retaining its theological and ethical core.
