Abstract
This paper explores the foundational principles of Ijtihad and Qiyas within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence, focusing on their development, evolution, and application from classical to modern times. The study aims to provide a systematic understanding of how reasoning (ijtihad) and analogical deduction (qiyas) have shaped Islamic legal thought and contributed to the adaptability of Shariah law. By analyzing classical juristic debates and contemporary interpretations, the paper highlights the dynamic nature of Islamic legal reasoning and its continued relevance in addressing emerging socio-legal challenges.
