Abstract
Hasrat Mohani was born in the small town of Mohan in 1875 and was later known as a scholar, journalist, writer, politician, researcher, poet, and thinker. Hasrat Mohani was a great poet of ghazals, and he was known for his love for this branch of poetry, which is why Hasrat Mohani's name came to one's mind involuntarily when even ghazal is mentioned. Ghazal is actually the romantic tale of our life's momentous events; ghazal translates our feelings, emotions, and narratives. These are those heartstrings that take millions to express, but through ghazal. They can be expressed beautifully and emotionally. The credit for purging ghazal from the courtly and traditional norms goes to Hasrat Mohani. He adorned the ghazal with reality and naturalism. Romance, love, and beauty are the topics that we find in Hasrat's poetry. Whereas love's beauty and blandishments are described in his ghazals. Sometimes we find in his poetry stoic and Protonic, and on other occasions it gets tangy and savoury. Hasrat gave a new trend to ghazal, which turns out to be an inspiration for the coming generations.
