Abstract
This paper explores the concept of mindfulness in Islam by examining Qur’anic reflections and their psychological applications in modern contexts. While contemporary psychology defines mindfulness as present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance, Islamic mindfulness emphasizes taqwa (God-consciousness), muraqabah (self-awareness before Allah), and reflection on the signs of creation. The study analyzes relevant Qur’anic verses and Prophetic traditions that promote awareness, self-control, and inner peace, showing parallels with modern mindfulness-based therapies. It further highlights how practices such as salah, dhikr, and Qur’anic contemplation cultivate psychological well-being, reduce stress, and improve emotional regulation. By integrating Islamic spirituality with therapeutic models, the paper demonstrates that Islamic mindfulness offers a faith-based, holistic approach that not only enhances mental health but also deepens spiritual connection with Allah.
