Abstract
Since its approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2011, transcatheter aortic valve replacement has revolutionized the treatment of aortic valvular disease with a rapid increase in utilization. Potentially fatal aortic complications are rare, occurring in 0.2-1.1% of cases-all reported in the early perioperative period. We present a case of a late ascending aortic pseudoaneurysm with rupture secondary to erosion by an embolized transcatheter aortic valve occurring six years after implantation, which was successfully treated with a commercially available, off-the-shelf aortic endograft.
