Abstract
This study investigates the influence of sustainable supply chain practices (SSCPs) on firm competitiveness through a mixed-method research design integrating case studies, surveys, and quantitative modeling. The analysis focused on firms from diverse industries, examining how sustainability-oriented initiatives such as green logistics, circular economy practices, socially responsible sourcing, and digital-enabled transparency impact competitiveness indicators including cost efficiency, inventory turnover, lead time reduction, service levels, innovation, and stakeholder trust.
The results from nine comparative datasets and twelve visual performance models demonstrate that firms adopting SSCPs experience measurable improvements in both operational and strategic outcomes. Inventory turnover and lead time reductions were consistently observed across firms implementing green logistics, while cost savings and service level enhancements were associated with the adoption of circular economy principles and responsible sourcing strategies. Moreover, resilience indicators revealed that sustainability-oriented firms achieved greater stability and adaptability under market disruptions compared to those relying on conventional supply chain models.
Figures also illustrated strong positive correlations between sustainability indices and competitiveness scores, highlighting that stakeholder satisfaction and social responsibility metrics directly contribute to long-term competitive differentiation. Although challenges such as high initial costs and complexity of measuring outcomes remain, the study confirms that the long-term benefits significantly outweigh these barriers. The integration of digital technologies such as predictive analytics and blockchain further amplified the competitiveness outcomes of sustainability initiatives by enhancing transparency and adaptability.
In conclusion, the findings provide robust evidence that sustainable supply chain practices are not only ethical imperatives but also strategic levers for achieving superior competitiveness. Firms aligning sustainability with innovation, resilience, and stakeholder value creation secure long-term advantages in global markets.
