Abstract
For the proper recitation of the Holy Qurʼān, it is necessary to learn the phonetics of classical Arabic, language in which it was revealed. While articulating the sound of the Qurʼānic words, any mistake that occurs may change the meanings of the divine Text. For instance, the holy verse (قُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ أَحَد) means; "Say that Allah is one". If a reader having no practice to articulate the sound of the letter "ق" recite the afore-said verse, he may articulate the sound of the letter "ك" i.e. (کُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ أَحَد ) which means; "Eat that Allah is one". The change in articulation of the sounds of letters changes the meanings of the Holy Qurʼān. In this article certain words of this category have been selected with their phonetic characterstics. This research paper will enable the readers of the Holy Qurʼān to understand the proper meanings and help avoiding the improper articulation of such words.
