Abstract
The interfaith dialogue and particularly the contemporary Muslim Christian dialogue in Pakistan is the need of the day, but it can be possible and successful only by applying the principles of dialogue. There are some important principles and methods which can be taken to make the dialogue successful and end it with cheerfulness. The first and foremost thing is the equality of the participants in the process of dialogue. The both sides should participate in dialogue with knowledge, logic and valid references. The selection of words must be careful. The dialogue should be loud and clear. Mutual respect for each other is very necessary. Apart from being good speakers, they should be good listeners as well. It must be kept in mind that the other side can be correct. Forbearance, tolerance and politeness are also important for the both sides engaged in dialogue. The final and most important thing is that whether they are agreed on a point or not, the end of dialogue must be with cheerfulness.
